Dr, Zakia Wahid is a visiting Assistant Professor of Pathology at Nur International University. She has a vast experience in application and teaching of histopathology to her credit. During her five year service at Fatima Memorial Hospital College of Medicine and Dentistry, she has taken courses for the MBBS, BDS, DPT and Allied Health Sciences classes and is in-charge of DPT classes for Pathology. In addition, she represented the Pathology Department at a series of Workshops on “Semester System Based Curricula Development” for Allied Health Sciences and also remained part of the team for development of integrated curriculum for the first year students of Allied Health Sciences. She has certificate in Medical Teaching jointly awarded by University of health Sciences and Liverpool University, UK and is now mentoring students seeking certificate in medical education at UHS. She is also member of College hostel review committee and made significant contributions to improvement of boarding facilities for the students.

Dr Zakia Wahid earned her MBBS degree from Fatima Jinnah Medical College, Lahore and M.Phil degree from Postgraduate Medical Institute, Lahore. She has ten years of clinical and diagnostic experience in medicine, surgery, gynaecology and obstetrics. After obtaining training on child survival from UK in 2003, she worked with UNICEF on child rights issues with special focus on street children and repatriation of camel jockeys in 2005-2007. After obtaining MPhil degree She Joined the College in 2012 and served as Senior Demonstrator and an Assistant Professor of Pathology for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. She also undertakes histopathological reporting of routine surgical and cytological biopsies. She has been performing diagnostic reporting of renal biopsies, Immunofluorescence and ANA studies since 2014. She also performs onsite evaluation and supervise Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology for in-house and outdoor patients.

She has actively participated in various medical and pathology conferences and presented research papers in many local and international seminars and conferences.  Alongside, she is a keen researcher in the field of pathology and medical education and presently working on “systematic lupus erythematosus frequency in local population” and “Comparative analysis of peer assisted learning experience in undergraduate students”.
