Every year for the last many years at NUR Foundation and Fatima Memorial System, both non-profit, partner institutions dedicated to serve Pakistan’s social sector, we have several hundred 18+ year olds from all over Pakistan as well as children of Pakistani expats from all over the world.
We get them to interact amongst themselves as well as their marginalized counterparts. They participate in an intensive leadership programme and celebrate their experiences around 14th of August each year. On the 12th of August this year, we have a ceremony that celebrates the epic 70 years of Pakistan! It is an event attended by over a 1000 young people and full of energy and enthusiasm for Hamara Pakistan! Please do join us! You will love this interactive celebration! 70 years of Pakistan.
NUR Student Leadership Program (NSLP) celebrated its 22nd annual closing ceremony of the internship program entitled “HAMARA PAKISTAN”. The closing ceremony which infused the spirit of unity, faith and discipline was held at the Qasr-e-Noor, Lahore and celebrated the spirit of being a Pakistani as a nation. The basic purpose of the program was to inculcate a spirit of nationalism for Pakistan and empathy for the fellow countrymen in the interns who will be leader of tomorrow.
The closing ceremony began with Tilawat-e-Quran followed by the National Anthem. A tableau was performed by the students of Nur Community Outreach Program. This was followed by few words by Dr. Zafar Iqbal Qureshi – Chairman NUR Foundation, which was followed by an address by the Honorable chief guest Chief Justice Lahore High Court Syed Mansoor Ali Shah. Minister of Health Rana Mashood was invited on stage to share his thoughts. An experience sharing session took place of students from each academic institution of NUR-FMS along with a prize and certificate distribution ceremony.
The ceremony ended with a parade to “Iss parcham kay saye tale hum aik hai” reinforcing the spirit of patriotism and the love for our nation.

Since 1995, NUR Student Leadership Program has been working as a catalyst to bring about a change in the mindset of the youth by bringing to them a firsthand experience faced by the under-privileged members of society.
Today the program enrolls the highest number of interns and utilizes most advanced and modern strategies of learning. More than any academic subject, moral values, ethics, social responsibilities, empathy, patience and tolerance are cultivated as these values build a strong foundation to ethical and intellectually developed societies. As a part of the internship curriculum students are required to visits sub urban and rural areas around Lahore where the NUR Community Outreach Program provides healthcare, vocational training and education at grass root level.
