Course grades are based on cumulative performance in a course. The final grades are assigned as per the following scale

Performance Letter Grade Q-Points %age Band
Excellent A+ 4.00 90% – 100%
A 4.00 86% – 89%
A- 3.66 82% – 85%
Good B+ 3.33 78% – 81%
B 3 74% – 77%
B- 2.66 70% – 73%
Adequate C+ 2.33 66% – 69%
C 2.00 62% – 65%
Inadequate C- 1.66 58% – 61%
D+ 1.33 54% – 57%
D 1.00 50% – 53%
Fail F 0 0% – 49%

W-Fail Withdraw with FAIL

The calculation of Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) follows the same process for all courses. An example with putative data for CGPA calculation is shown below:

Courses Taken Letter Grade Q-Points Credit Hours Grade Points
Course 1 A 4 3 12.00
Course 2 B+ 3.33 3 9.99
Course 3 B 3 3 9.00
Course 4 C- 1.66 3 4.98
Course 5 F 3 0.00
Course 6 W 3
Total 15 35.97

Semester GPA = (sum of grade points / total credit hours attempted) = (35.97/15) = 2.40
