This program will prepare students for jobs in the area of finance in different sectors of the economy. Bearing in mind the market needs, the course has been designed to equip students with sound theoretical knowledge in accounting, economics and finance. The program is supported by imparting knowledge of using information sciences as a means to take rational financial decisions. The program is built on strong theoretical constructs, their application and financial decision-making. Specifically, the courses will include, but will not be limited to financial management, corporate finance, investment analysis, financial statement analysis and good knowledge of financial and management accounting, supported by basic knowledge of micro and macroeconomics.

Students are to do experiential exercises to build their skills in deep financial analysis and financial markets. Students will also be exposed to understanding the working of financial markets and banking institutions. Additionally, the students will be expected to develop a portfolio of investment in the stock markets.

The program will prepare the students, to peruse promising careers in the corporate sector, in public sector companies and in the not-for-profit sector. The students can hope to grow in their careers to become chief financial officers and/or chief operating officers.
